30% Reduction in Manual Effort
Automated infrastructure management—using Lambda, Terraform, and CodePipelines—slashed labor-intensive tasks and improved operational agility.
Client & Business Challenges
AccuHealth, a leading healthcare technology firm with over five decades of operational expertise, required a cloud-native solution to scale rapidly and comply with strict healthcare regulations like HIPAA. They needed to process more than 400,000 daily transactions efficiently and cost-effectively, all while improving EHR integration for real-time patient data. Legacy infrastructure was inadequate for handling high volumes of sensitive data, restricting performance and user growth. Balancing performance, security, and cost was paramount. Seeking to modernize operations, AccuHealth aimed to deploy a multi-account AWS architecture for simplified oversight, robust security guardrails, and on-demand scalability without compromising on data integrity or user experience.

The Solution
Successive Digital created a fully cloud-native platform leveraging an array of AWS services, from Lambda and EC2 to CloudWatch and SNS. This approach ensured compliance with HIPAA standards, delivering high availability, rapid scaling, and cost-effectiveness in tandem. By integrating Splunk, real-time data monitoring was enabled for better troubleshooting and analytics, while Perimeter81 provided enterprise-grade, unified network security. An Infrastructure-as-Code strategy (using Terraform) streamlined provisioning and updates, allowing the system to be deployed quickly across multiple accounts. This end-to-end modernization solidified AccuHealth’s remote patient monitoring environment with minimal downtime and automated self-healing capabilities.
- Automated Infrastructure Management
AWS Lambda, CodePipelines, and Terraform combined to automate critical infrastructure processes, ensuring swift deployment of new instances and reducing manual interventions. Over 70 EC2 servers hosted essential workloads, and integrated CloudWatch alarms provided early detection and resolution, improving system stability and minimizing the risk of service interruptions.
- Scalable & Compliant Architecture
A multi-account structure with security guardrails supported HIPAA compliance and protected personal health information. Serverless services like AWS Lambda, SQS, and SNS reduced idle computing costs while automatically scaling to handle spikes in daily transactions. This efficient design allowed the platform to adapt quickly to evolving usage patterns.
- Data Visibility & Real-Time Alerts
Splunk captured and indexed machine data from across the environment, enabling in-depth analysis and prompt remediation of issues. The Amazon SNS integration further enhanced communication by sending real-time notifications to practitioners and patients, facilitating hyper-connected telehealth services that elevated patient satisfaction and clinical responsiveness.
